IPod Battles
Here are the rules, courtesy of McNutt.Wordpress.Com
"1. Eight teams of 2-3 people load up their iPods with the sickest beats, hottest jams, and most embarrassing guilty pleasures.
2. Two teams face off at a time, plugging their iPods into the sound system and attempting to win over the crowd with their awesome selections.
3. Each team gets five songs in a round, alternating back and forth. Teams can only play 1:30 from a track, but they can queue up their iPod to start at any moment in the song, or edit the song’s best parts into a single file. The only rule with song selection is that no mash-ups are allowed.
4. The winner of each round is chosen by crowd volume, measured by a decibel meter. The moral of the story? Victory requires a loud, enthusiastic audience."
Sounds cheesy? Maybe, but if you think about it then you might realize it's harder and actually more fun then it seems. You can't just play any random song and the way your team dresses and dances, also effects how the crowd will respond to your song choices. And for the most part, these Ipod Battles are usually between popular DJs and random people that are know in the music/art/streetwear world (SoMe, Kaws, Yone, etc). I think thats a major reason why these things got so popular.
Are there Ipod Battles here in the States? Not that i know of, but this is definitely an idea that i might just have to create here in Southern California...
Check out these Ipod Battles!!!

Ingenious!!!
"UK artist James Cauty presents his latest exhibition of work titled Splatter at The Aquarium in London. Taking those nostalgic childhood memories of Warner Bros. cartoon characters, Cauty gives us a violent yet accurate representation of what would’ve really happened had Tom & Jerry been on HBO. Have a look for yourselves!"
