Paul Smith x Shakespeare ?!! NICE!!!

Street wear based on Shakespeare...nice!!!

"Yorick (Hamlet) Oberon (A Midsummer Night's Dream) and Mercutio (Romeo and Juliet) all get re-interpreted by Paul Smith Jeans. These illustrated organic cotton t-shirts depict Yorick, Oberon and Mercutio as a free spirited rockstar entertainer, a madman and a modern day ‘boy next door’ respectively, giving a contemporary slant on these age-old characters. They come packaged in a re-usable fabric bag decorated with Paul Smith’s ‘Never Assume’ coat of arms along with a screen print of these twisted Shakespearean characters

The limited edition T-Shirts will be available from February 2009 at Paul Smith Jeans Stores; 9-11 Langley Court, WC2E 9JY and 10 Byard Lane, Nottingham, NG1 2GJ."

With that being said, im announcing that this will be the last Sunday Throwback Video im ever going to post. Please, enjoy.

Sundays Throwback Video #10

This weeks Throwback Video: Kanye West feat. Adam Levine - Heard 'Em Say. "Nothings ever promised tomorrow today". Thats exactly how i feel right now, and crazy enough thats how i felt the first time i heard this song a few years back. Seems that things aren't real until they really are so i want to try and learn from the past mistakes i made around the time this song came out, and apply them to the very similar situations im put in these days. And unfortunately sometimes in the end, "it hurts but it may be the only way"

IPod Battles

Originating in Paris circa 2006, Ipod Battles are one of the hottest things to hit the nightlife scene in major cities around Europe and Japan. The basic concept of Ipod Battles revolves around the idea that one teams taste in music, is better then another teams taste; winner takes all!

Here are the rules, courtesy of McNutt.Wordpress.Com

"1. Eight teams of 2-3 people load up their iPods with the sickest beats, hottest jams, and most embarrassing guilty pleasures.

2. Two teams face off at a time, plugging their iPods into the sound system and attempting to win over the crowd with their awesome selections.

3. Each team gets five songs in a round, alternating back and forth. Teams can only play 1:30 from a track, but they can queue up their iPod to start at any moment in the song, or edit the song’s best parts into a single file. The only rule with song selection is that no mash-ups are allowed.

4. The winner of each round is chosen by crowd volume, measured by a decibel meter. The moral of the story? Victory requires a loud, enthusiastic audience."

Sounds cheesy? Maybe, but if you think about it then you might realize it's harder and actually more fun then it seems. You can't just play any random song and the way your team dresses and dances, also effects how the crowd will respond to your song choices. And for the most part, these Ipod Battles are usually between popular DJs and random people that are know in the music/art/streetwear world (SoMe, Kaws, Yone, etc). I think thats a major reason why these things got so popular.

Are there Ipod Battles here in the States? Not that i know of, but this is definitely an idea that i might just have to create here in Southern California...

Check out these Ipod Battles!!!

Hipsters in Space!!!

Talk about hitting the nail on the head! This video is too funny and so true! Ever since i moved, iv seen hipsters all the time. Hipsters can be really be annoying and their ego shows even when they don't say anything. This video on CurrentTV summarizes them very well by showing some key "hipster characters" and has a special appearance by Steve Aoki.

...and if you still confused on what a hipster is, then check out this video...

Ingenious!!!

One of the most eye catching articles iv ever seen on HYPEBEAST

"UK artist James Cauty presents his latest exhibition of work titled Splatter at The Aquarium in London. Taking those nostalgic childhood memories of Warner Bros. cartoon characters, Cauty gives us a violent yet accurate representation of what would’ve really happened had Tom & Jerry been on HBO. Have a look for yourselves!"
